Japanese-Style Interior Design

Calm, natural, and ordered. Wood and honest materials for a serene, zen-like feel.

Japanese interior design is quiet and serene, built on natural materials, wood, ordered lines, and the wabi-sabi philosophy that finds beauty in simplicity. HONGHAUS designs restful, retreat-like Bangkok condos and homes, then styles and photographs each room so every corner feels calm and full of depth.

We plan spaces that flow and feel open, choose wood and tactile natural finishes, use soft light, tidy everything away, and leave deliberate empty space for calm. We can blend in Japandi touches for a warmer, contemporary feel.

It suits anyone who wants a restorative space, values order, and loves the minimal beauty of Japanese design.

Questions, answered

Are Japanese and Muji styles the same?

They are close but not identical. Muji is a contemporary, function-first Japanese minimalism, while Japanese style also embraces more traditional cues and wabi-sabi.

Do I need tatami mats or shoji screens?

Not at all. We adapt the style to Bangkok condo living while keeping its spirit of calm and natural materials, adding as many traditional details as you like.
