The Royal Residence — Type S

A Type S show residence where a double-height living room sets the tone, then classic-contemporary rooms in cream, grey and warm timber give way to a darker, more masculine wing of study, games room and cigar lounge.

The house opens on a double-height living room, where a cascading white-petal chandelier drops the full two storeys past a mezzanine gallery. Cream sofas and curved wing chairs gather around a black-lacquer table on a soft blue-grey rug, while sheer floor-to-ceiling curtains keep the light diffuse. By the staircase, a mirrored console styled with silver candlesticks and white orchids marks the arrival.

Quieter rooms carry the same restraint. A family sitting room pairs cream tub chairs and a striped settee beneath a coffered ceiling, a textured pearl-and-gold canvas anchoring the grey feature wall. In the dining room, chevron-patterned chairs draw up to a round timber table under a tiered capiz chandelier, with a mirrored sideboard and tall grey drapes completing the composition.

A darker register takes over towards the rear. A games room sets a white-based billiard table beneath a mirrored, gold-lined ceiling and panelled walnut walls; a study wraps a bay-window seat in plantation shutters under a domed cornice. Deepest of all is the cigar lounge — forest-green panelling, tan leather Chesterfield wing chairs, a cowhide underfoot, and small pleasures styled in: a cut-crystal ashtray, a bronze retriever set into the joinery.
